RainLog 2.0 Professional

The Rainlog data logger is supplied with RL-Loader software and serial cable. The RainWise model RGA industrial tipping bucket rain gauge is constructed from anodized aluminum and stainless steel to provide years of precision recording of rainfall data. The tipping bucket is molded from a specially-formulated plastic that has a very low surface tension coefficient. The weight of the water required to make the bucket tip produces a momentary switch closure that is equal to 0.01 inch/0.2mm of rainfall. This momentary pulse may be used in a system to determine either rainfall amount and/or rate. The same tip that produces the pulse also dumps the bucket so that the gauge never requires emptying. The tipping bucket sensor is mounted on stainless steel instrument bearings and housed in an anodized aluminum case. The 203mm diameter collector meets NWS specifications for statistical accuracy.  This package does not include a mounting post.  It is also important that the mounting provides adequate drainage for the collector. The tipping bucket mechanism empties through two drains in its base. The RainLog 2.0 data logger is our next generation Rainfall logger and features numerous improvements over our popular original RainLog. This battery operated logger fits inside many models of tipping bucket rain gauges. Rainfall is logged at a one-minute resolution and has capacity for several years of data.

RL-Loader 2 – Software (Free)
This free Windows based software package will run on Windows XP or later. RL-Loader is used to configure and download data from the Rainlog. Data is displayed in both text and graphical formats. You can print graphs and reports directly. Previously saved data can be loaded to perform analysis and generate reports. The latest release can export data directly into Microsoft Excel. The device info window gives you vital information about the attached Rainlog, like its time/date and the amount of memory used. The text window displays daily totals or the list of rainfall events as they occur. The graph window displays a bar chart of the daily rainfall totals. The graphing range is also configurable.
